This past week, DC Comics announced the introduction of a NEW DC Universe. The universe will contain Doc Savage, Blackhawk, The Spirit, Black Canary, The Avenger, and of-course Batman! Other characters will be announced later, but what do all of these folks named have in common? Simple: no super-powers. It’ll be a universe filled with the best vigilantes, mystery men, and pulp heroes. Every problem will be solved with brains and fists, no power rings or magic deus ex machina’s here.
The new universe gets kicked off with Batman/Doc Savage to be written by Brian Azzarello and drawn by Rags Morales. This six issue mini-series will introduce us to this new universe that features a Batman who is just getting started coming face to face with Doc Savage, arguably the first pulp hero.
As more announcements come, I will keep you posted…

EVEN BETTER THAN SPOCK PUNCHING WOLVERINE

this is alejon carpentier. he wrote the chase (el acoso), and i would like to read it. beethovens third is my favourite.
“In a nameless, Havana-like city, an anonymous man flees a team of shadowy, relentless political assassins, and ultimately takes refuge in a symphony auditorium during a performance of Beethoven’s Eroica… . This nightmarish novel does not so much tell a story as map the secret political infrastructure of cities, governments, churches, music, and bodies.”

if anyone has a copy, can i borrow it?

not even the first star trek/x-men crossover.
easily my favourite band in the whole world. deeply upset that i didn’t know they were playing groezrock in belgium or i would of been there in a heartbeat. rumours of reading and leeds though. if they do, i don’t care how much the tickets are, i’m going.
